You are bidding on a custom machined, solid aluminum crester chuck desinged to fit a 5/16" or larger drill chuck. This chuck will turn YOUR drill into the "Poor Man's Crester". This chuck is made from solid 6061 round aluminum bar stock. It uses the proven rubber washer design. This simple effective design will hold any size wood, aluminum or carbon shaft all the way down to approximately 7/32" diameter. It does not matter if the shafts are tapered, nocked, fletched or unfletched, it will hold them all. The washers are held in place by an internal groove machined on the inside of the chuck's bore. The washers are easily changed when they wear out and 5 spare washers are included with the chuck.
These are the New custom molded washers which are very
precise and held to exact tolerances. These chucks are indicated to five ten thousands (.0005) of an inch or less before they are bored. They are very concentric and will run perfectly true if your drill chuck runs true. The chuck is approx 1" in diameter, and 1-5/8" long, with a 5/8" inside bore. It is bored to 5/16" and a steel dowel pin is inserted and held in place by a stainless steel set screw. The rubber washers are the same size as the old Bohning chuck washers and will fit them as well. Made right here in the USA.
PLEASE NOTE: This chuck fits a 5/16" or larger Drill Chuck.
300 RPM is ideal for this work. 400 RPM is about the maximum you want.
The Drill, Arrow, and V-block are NOT included.
